College is recognized as an important investment and there are several options
for financing the costs. If you are not eligible for
need-based financial assistance or choose not to apply, the Federal
Graduate PLUS Loan Program offers an alternative resource. If you
receive financial assistance but wish to finance all or part of your
expected family contribution, this educational loan program can close the gap between
total costs and the financial assistance offered by the University of
Dayton. Eligibility for the Graduate PLUS loan is based upon your
individual creditworthiness.
Eligibility for both the Federal
subsidized and
unsubsidized Stafford
loans will be determined by reviewing the student's
Free Application for
Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) before consideration of eligibility for the
Graduate PLUS loan.
The Federal Graduate PLUS Loan is available to graduate or professional
students with no adverse credit history. Students may borrow up to the full cost of attendance minus
other assistance during an academic year. The interest rate is fixed at
8.5%. Interest begins to accrue after disbursement of the loan.
Repayment is generally deferred until after graduation. Please visit the
