| Background and Impact of SAP The Higher Education Act (HEA) of 1965, as amended,
requires the University of Dayton to develop and enforce standards of
satisfactory progress prior to awarding any federal financial aid funds to
students.
The Ohio grant programs are funded by the State of Ohio and also fall under these regulations.
Standards of satisfactory progress were established to encourage students to successfully complete courses for which financial aid is received and to progress satisfactorily toward degree
completion. "Successful completion of a course is defined as receiving one of the following grades: A, B, C, D, or S. The grading marks: F, NC, I, W, X, or P will not be considered as
successful completion of a course" by Federal regulation.
