Undergraduate Student Budget

The Office of Financial Aid establishes student budgets each year to reflect realistic cost of attendance figures. Direct charges for tuition, fees, housing (University-owned) and meal plan rates are set on an annual basis by the University administration. Variable expenses such as books, supplies, personal spending and travel allowances are set by the Office of Financial Aid and are based on average student expenses.

The following student budgets have been established and will be used in determining eligibility for assistance.

Special Note:

The budgets are presented to assist you in determining the resources you will need for the entire school year. We encourage you to establish a budget based upon your needs and to use the student expense budget worksheet to calculate the amount your family will be required to pay toward the cost of attendance. If your budget is lower than our estimate, you are encouraged to borrow less money through the educational loan programs. If your projected expenses are higher than you estimate, we encourage you to speak with one of our counselors to discuss your needs.

Per federal regulation, any combination of financial assistance received by the student (including non-repayable grants and scholarships, educational loans and on-campus school year employment) from any sources cannot exceed the established student budget.
